Cruisers, floating cities
We visit the shipyard of Palermo to see how a ship 300 meters in length is cut in half, is lengthen with a new section of 24 meters, and again is welded to seamlessly navigate. A cruise ship with 5,000 people on board is a veritable floating city. We attended the docking maneuver in the port of Barcelona MSC Splendida and explain the equipment and supply logistics. Involved Andrea Angelotti, Marine Operations Manager of MSC Cruises, Tomás Navarro, Pilot Corporation, Port of Barcelona, Ferdinando Ponti, captain of the MSC Splendida, and Roberto Paterno, F&B Manager of the MSC Splendida.
