The price of the rose
The wild rose is a plant very resistant to diseases and adapted to the temperature and precipitation conditions of the middle mountain. Garden roses, on the other hand, have been selected by hybridization to ensure that they multiply the number of petals, that they have all kinds of colors and produce delicious fragrances, but they have not been selected to be resistant. The result is that they are very delicate against insects and fungi, and not very fertile, that is why they often have to be grafted onto wild roses. It is the price they have to pay for their beauty.
